To celebrate our anniversary, Eli surprised me with a day trip to San Francisco! Our day of adventure began at the Conservatory of Flowers in the beautiful Golden Gate Park.
It was a beautiful collection of amazing plants from all over the world.
In the potted plant wing, the designers paid homage to the botanists who diligently collected and studied plants in the past.
A koi pond surrounded by orchids.
There were so many nepenthes! Big, little, red, brown, green, fuzzy, smooth - but all designed to capture flies!
We were so captivated by the nepenthes that we bought a small planted one and named it Henry.
Entire ecosystems can exist in small pools like these.
Outside of the building, a giant flower garden displayed colorful blooms from around the world.
The conservatory was like a zen garden - beautiful, mystical, and relaxing. It was the perfect beginning to a wonderful day!
